Spirit of Dundee Joint Winner 2015
“I created my wearable art piece to address the environmental issues of global warming and the impact that human waste has on Earth. As a way of recycling a book which contained dated information, I used book pages as a material which is a reasonably environmentally friendly alternative to the use of normal paper. I used Ice crystals as the source of inspiration for my piece. I felt that the use of crisp, white paper as a material replicated the beautiful forms and fragility of ice. The print of the book is visually interesting to me as I feel that it gives the piece more depth and visually communicates the idea of marred ice.”
Thank you to Dundee Wearable Art for such an amazing event. Special thanks to Laura Marshall who was fantastic at modelling my work.
